Description
Well, here’s a nice rare lovely vinyl LP!
and it's POST FREE!
It’s “Jazz In Britain ’68 – ‘69” on the Decca Eclipse label ECS 2114.
It is a stereo recording and the disc is remarkably clean and tidy.
The sleeve isn’t quite so lovely but it is still nice, clean and collectable.
Here’s yer track list:
Bouquet Garni
Shepherd Oak
Bessie Pt. 1
Bessie Pt. 2
Circles On Ice
Winter Song
The producer is the great Peter Eden, who also produced Donovan and Brett Marvin And The Thunderbolts!
The God-like jazz persons who appear on the tracks are:
John Surman (baritone sax)
Alan Skidmore (tenor sax)
Mike Osborne (alto sax)
Tony Oxley (drums)
Harry Beckett (flugel horn.. there were lots of them about in the 60’s)
Malcolm Griffiths (trombone)
John Taylor (keyboards)
Harry Miller (bass guitar)
Alan Jackson (drums)
Kenny Wheeler (flugel horn.. see remarks above)
My good friend Mr “Diz” Kogz tells me that the album contains five previously unreleased masters recorded at various sessions in 1968 and 1969.
The disc is as clean as an anecdote told by Valerie Singleton and plays beautifully. It shines like the eyes of an oligarch who has just successfully bribed a cabinet minister.
I’d call it a very strong VG++ or better.
The sleeve isn’t quite so exquisitely clean, but is complete, not creased or written-on, and is perfectly collectable.
Let’s say a very strong VG+ or better.
I am not a dealer.
I am just an old bloke thinning out his lifetime collection of STUFF before the floor collapses, or I do.
I'm selling most of this stuff for much less than I paid for it.
What a great business plan (I don't think)!
The LP in the photograph is the LP you will get.
I have described the item to the best of my ability, and everything looks in splendid condition to me.
Please check the photographs to decide for yourself.
NO OVERSEAS bidders please.
And NO OVERSEAS bidders using UK addresses please.
NO BUYER COLLECT.
I am a simple sort, and I want my buyers to be happy. If there is any kind of problem, I like to deal with it personally. I can’t do this if you’re thousands of miles away!
