Bell Sound Studio Acetate - 1967
This is a one-sided 45 RPM acetate cut at the Bell Sound Studio in Nee York City in 1967 for Roulette Records. “Gettin’ Together” was written by Ritchie Cordell and recorded by Tommy James and the Shondells as the title song for their 1967 album. The song reached # 18 on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 1967 and #24 on Canada’s pop chart.
The acetate looks and plays in Very Good Plus condition (VG+) with no overwhelming hiss, popping, or ticks and no skips. The artist and song title are typed on the generic Bell Sound label.
Provenance: This copy was in the collection of Rhode Island and Massachusetts disc jockey and program director Ken Rapoza who was active from the mid-1960s until his death in a 1987 motorcycle crash.
The record was inherited by a friend and fellow collector in Massachusetts and remained in his archive until his death in 2024.
