Hello! This is an auction for a copy of the album The Cats by Tommy Flanagan, John Coltrane, Kenny Burrell, and Idrees Sulieman on New Jazz, catalogue number NJLP 8217. Copies of this title on the purple New Jazz labels are very hard to find. The cover with this copy is surprisingly decent, with all edge intact and without much to speak of in terms of tearing, although there is some peeling to the laminate by the opening and some writing on the back. The record, unfortunately, is a bit rough, with several scuffs and scratches. It didn't skip or stick on my record player, but it may have trouble on more sensitive rigs. Noise from the scratches is pretty strong on quieter tracks (like 'How Long Has This Been Going On?'), but louder tracks sound surprisingly decent, likely due to the pressing quality and recording copy. Has 'RVG' stamped in the runouts on both sides. Doug Walkins and Louis Hayes also appear on this record alongside the four artists named on the front of the cover. Good luck!
