Description
TOM & JERRY: Dustin’ the Keys/G.C. OSBORNE: Taken In Blues (Champion 15507). The Tom & Jerry side is listed as “Piano Novelty--Duet” and is Jimmy Blythe and W.E. Burton…terrific piano. The Osborne side says “Five String Banjo Novelty--Acc. By Guitar & Mandolin”. According to Tony Russell, this piece was written in Gennett record logs as “Old Time Playin’”, then that was crossed out and “use as race inst.” was written in! Recorded in 1928 in Richmond, IN. It’s in rough shape, V- or so, but plays better; some label damage. Cool banjo instrumental.
I’m helping a friend auction off his collection of fine old time, blues and ethnic 78s. There are some wonderful records, so check my other listings and keep checking back. Due to my schedule these listings will be spread over several weeks time.
Ebay does not allow a shipping charge over $4.00 for records sent by Media Mail. It could be one CD or a large bunch of 78s sent together, they impose this same limit. To provide sufficiently protective packing we require the additional $2.00 fee for record. Total for packing/shipping: $6.00
Shipping discount on multiple items shipped together. Please wait for invoice before paying for items won.
