A first recording of the chamber symphonies of the great 18th century English composer, with oral program notes by William Kozlenko
Original 1937 US mono release on Timely Records (catalog # SET.1K, records are individually numbered No. 300/301/302/303/304/305/306/307/308), with nine 10" 78RPM discs and three inserts inside bound hardback album which is bolted with metal screws.This rare set dates from 1937, as The Nov. 1, 1937 issue of Time magazine refers to the Timely Boyce set being "out last week."
This copy includes the small booklet with notes, a February 1951 Decca catalog insert (in poor condition, falling apart), and a separate page laid in from a Carnegie Hall 1950/1951 concert featuring the music of William Boyce (by Franco Autori with Yfrah Neaman.)
CONDITION: Cover VG+ / Vinyl VG++ excellent shape, outer album has faded a bit but is completely intact; records are all close to NM, appear unplayed, no scratches or playwear, just a little bit of storage wear. Graded conservatively using Goldmine standards [G / G+ / VG / VG+ / NM / ]grade only used if record is brand new.
