ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This striking and very rare LP from A Charlin Disques (CL-11, French pressing, white/red label, mono) features the remarkable pianist Germaine Thyssens-Valentin in a sublime rendition of Fauré's Piano Quintet No. 2 in C minor Op. 115, recorded with the Quatuor de l'ORTF, a performance perhaps unsurpassed on record.
The ORTF String Quartet was composed of Jacques Dumont (1st Violin), Louis Perlemuter (2nd Violin), Marc Carles (Viola), and Robert Salles (Cello).
A wonderful bonus comes in the form of Fauré's Elégie for Cello and Piano Op. 24, with cellist Robert Salles accompanied by pianist Germaine Thyssens-Valentin.
All sessions were supervised by legendary producer André Charlin, founder of the eponymous label on which these wonderful performances made their fist appearance.
CONDITION:
The condition of the gatefold jacket is GOOD. There is edgewear, discoloration, some minor scuffing to the front panel, and general edgewear. However, the album is without bends, seamsplits or owners markings and remains very solid and presentation worthy – overall, still a good collectors copy.
The condition of the LP itself is near-MINT. Both labels are pristine and bright. There are no spindle trails or other marks – in fact the labels appear virtually as new. The vinyl itself is also bright, and aside from some faint paper sleeve marks, is unblemished.
I have play-graded this LP three times from beginning to end. Although the surfaces are not CD silent, there are no clicks, tics, or pops.
Overall, the LP itself is a fine collector's copy.

A single 12" LP boxed for mailing weighs @ 485g. The rate for mailing any package (weighing from 350-1000g) outside of Europe is $21.95. Thus, you can buy 1 or 2 LPs, and the cost will be the same: $21.95.

Box sets can vary in weight depending on the heaviness of the construction, the size of the booklet, etc. Generally, it costs $24.95 to mail a 3LP box set.
