Description

When The Beatles' Yesterday & Today (Capitol T 2553) was released in 1966, the so-called "Butcher Cover" (the "first-state" cover) was so controversial it was quickly replaced by the bland "Trunk Cover".

Some early copies went out with the trunk cover slick pasted over the original Butcher Cover ("second state"). Then folks tried to peel off the replacement slick to reveal the original.

This is one of those "third state" covers, also known as "peel jobs" You can judge from the picture how successful it was ...

It has some areas that look not too bad, some places that look bad (where the cover is damaged), and some areas where the paste has not been completely removed.

But hey! It's a genuine third-state Beatles Butcher Cover, one of the Holy Grails of Beatles album collecting.

The disc itself is pretty much trashed. But that's not why you want it, is it!
