Description
NOTE-Please don't be concerned with my ebay feedback tally. I have
been successfully selling 78s for nearly 40 years. I know how to grade
them, and I know how to package them.
One of the very finest concert bands was The Goldman Band directed
by Edwin Franko Goldman. Here they play Sousa's legendary March
"Stars and Stripes Forever" on a thin (Needle-Cut lateral) Edison
11017.
On the reverse side they do a nice selection written by Goldman
entitled "Third Alarm March."
Both sides were electrically recorded on July 19, 1929, shortly before
Edison shut the doors.
The record is in E- to V+ condition, but there is a thin crack from the
edge to the label, with a spot of glue on the very edge. It makes little
or no noise except at the very start of the B side, where it ticks a few
times.
