Description
Thelonius Monk and Gerry Mulligan “Mulligan Meets Monk” Riverside 1957 pressing-SEE QUOTE BELOW (# RLP 12-247 mono) in a cardboard sleeve. The record grading is Very Good+ (VG+). Overall, some surface marks that produce a few pops & slight crackling, but do not diminish much from the overall quality of the album. No “INC.” on the label. The following is on the runout groove (NOT in photos):

There are NO U.S. Patent #s in the runout groove
Thus, the cover seems to indicate a 1st pressing, yet the runout groove information does not as it’s lacking the Patent information. I will leave judgment up to the Bidders.
The outer case is Good+ (G+) due to the entire spine being split. Both top & bottom are fine with minor wear and only a very small split at the top right. There is some age wear/markings on the back cover. NOTE: It does NOT have a photo of Monk & Mulligan on it. (all reflected in the photos) All sales final.
"Very first pressing of 'Mulligan Meets Monk' - does not yet have the photograph of Monk and
Mulligan on the front cover. Also bears no 'Riverside' and/or logo at the bottom right front cover; it does, however, bear the 'Contemporary Series' sign with Riverside and the catalog number mentioned in it at the top right of the front cover. Unlike other 1957 U.S. pressings this one has the red-ink 'ribbon' stamp that reads 'Riverside Spectrosonic High Fidelity Engineering Reeves', placed to the right of the personnel names.
The fact that this version is the first pressing is confirmed by the other titles with their catalog numbers as stated on the back cover in the bottom right corner: "Monk's other Riverside albums are" and "Other outstanding jazz on 12-inch HIGH FIDELITY Riverside LPs includes" all mention Riverside catalog numbers between RLP 12-201 and RLP 12-246. Higher numbers had not been released yet and "Mulligan Meets Monk" itself is RLP 12-247."
