Description
This is Riverside Records RLP 279, Thelonious Monk Misterioso, a blue label, deep groove mono issue featuring Johnny Griffin. The record is in near mint condition, showing almost no signs of wear and playing quietly throughout. (There is only one minor caveat. There is an almost inaudible click on the beginning theme statement on side 1 track 1). The sound is bright and luminous throughout. The labels are perfect. The original glossy cover is also near mint. This is a superb collector's grade copy of this wonderful piece offered without a reserve price. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12. This is part of a large Jazz record collection I will be offering in the next few months.
