You are bidding on a out of print Japanese pressing copy of the Thelonious Monk - Complete Riverside Recordings 22 x LP  box set released by Riverside/Victor Musical Industries Records in 1986. This is VIJ-5102-23. Nice, throughly comprehensive Thelonious Monk collection from the 1980's of all his classic recordings from Riverside Records spread out over 22 LP's! The records are in nice, clean VG+ condition. The record labels are in NM condition. All the records are sleeved in lightweight lp polysleeves with the 80's Fantasy Inc. logo on the front. The booklet, which is mostly in English, is in VG+ condition. The main outer slipcase box itself as well as the two separate case boxes that house the records are in VG+ condition with light shelfwear and edgewear. There are a few tiny white splotches on the top edge of the box (see picture). This box set does not have the Obi strip it originally came with. Note for international buyers: Due to the weight of the box set, shipment to any destination outside of the U.S. will have to go via USPS Priority Mail International.

We visually grade all our records for sale and grade both the record and the jacket. We go by general standards for grading, which are:

Mint (M) - an unplayed, new copy of a record. no visual defects!

Near Mint (NM) - a nearly perfect record that has usually only been played 1-3 times, in "like new" condition.

Very Good + (VG+) - record still in excellent condition but has minor signs of wear such as surface scuffs/light scratches that don't affect the play. jacket has minor signs of wear such as light ringwear, edgewear, shelfwear, and/or light creasing.

Very Good (VG) - record has more wear than VG+ and may have some slight surface noise, light pops, some scuffs or scratches.  generally still a great playing copy.  jacket may have more wear, writing, sticker residue, punch out/cut out holes or corners.

Very Good - (VG-) - record has noticeable groove wear, surface noise, scratches, and/or scuffs but still a decent playing copy. jacket has heavier wear and may have a small split seam.

Good + and Good (G+ and G) - record still plays without skipping but has considerable amounts of groove wear, surface noise, scuffs, and/or scratches.  jacket has alot of wear and some defects such as split seams, heavy creasing, writing, marks, sticker residue, etc...
