Description

An original Mono 1st press of Monk's BBAQ on CBS 2-EYE. Matrix 1F/1F. Please note this is a demonstration copy that would have been released to record execs or promotional folk. The heavy set vinyl comes in an original cover which is tremendously well preserved. Take a good look - this is one sweet looking 60's LP! 
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In great condition and has only seen a light to moderate level of use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks each side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity.. You just can't imagine capturing these sounds and ambience on a CD...no way! A beautiful pressing and the audio just pours out of the speakers unhindered. Interference is minor and infrequent. All we detected was the odd crackle here and there. A great rendition by any standard.
Cover (Ex+) Wowzers....it really is a joy to see a cover surface from the sixties looking quite this fine. The front is beautifully clean and uncreased - just some slight wear at the opening. The rear is absolutely pristine and there is not even the vaguest hint of ageing or use...that really is very unusual. Edge wear is very light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat. FINAL UPGRADE no sweat.
