Description

Nothing Mobile Fidelity ever issued is as rare as this LP - the limited, numbered, autographed issue of John Klemmer's 1979 LP, "Straight from the Heart", issued in 1979 by Nautilus redords. As a promotional effort to get their label going, Nautilus issued two different versions of this LP, and pressed only 50 numbered copies of the autographed version. Each of the 50 copies was autographed by John Klemmer, and a gold embossed sticker was attached to the cover indicating the record's number in the series. This particular copy, which is still sealed, is number 8 of 50. How rare is this LP? We've been selling collectible records and audiophile pressings since 1978, and we've only met one person who has ever had one! We can't verify it, but there is a rumor that this particular issue of this LP features alternate takes. As this record (and the only other copy we're aware of) is sealed, we cannot verify that, and of course we will not guarantee it. Nevertheless, the rumor persists. Rumors aside, this is a beautiful, still sealed, low-numbered autographed copy of what is certainly the best-sounding LP ever issued by Nautilus. As direct disc LPs go, they don't sound much better than this one, and the chances of finding a numbered, autographed copy of this again are virtually zero! We attempt to describe each item fully and carefully. Sometimes we make mistakes. If you feel the item was not accurately described, please contact us and we will attempt to resolve the problem promptly. Questions? Feel free to ask.

I've been contacted by someone who owns one of these numbered pressings, and he informed me that his copy says "Take 1" in the dead wax area of the record. Later, commercially available copies (including the one I have in my own collection) are labeled "Take 2." Again, no guarantees, but it does appear that this record contains alternate versions of the material.
