The Zombies - Odessey And Oracle ( 1968 CBS UK original pressing. Stereo. Autographed on rear by Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone!. 63280 ). Once in a lifetime chance to own this pop/psych UK classic signed by it's two main protagonists!. So so scarce now basically because it sold so poorly on it's Spring 1968 release and the band had actually broken up by the release date that it was very quickly deleted. Seems incredible now but that's how things were in the very fast changing music scene in the late 1960,s. This copy was very kindly signed by Colin and Rod after I met them backstage at a Zombies reunion concert in Glasgow Scotland in 2005. ( what a thrill that was!). Classic pop-art front laminated cover has some diagonal corner creasing and a 2 small scores ( not prominent ) across the front . Slight wear along the bottom edge. Nice crisp opening edges. Fully readable spine which has some natural age darkening. Unlaminated rear again has some natural age darkening and mottling on the light coloured parts but looks stunning with the signatures in vivid red and black ink. Nothing to worry about at all. Stereo sticker top right ( de rigeur with Stereo CBS releases around this period ). NEAR EX. Custom CBS inner sleeve advertising other albums on the roster NEAR EX. Iconic dark orange CBS labels have no writing or staining. Several spindle traces indicating it's been well played but looked after. Very first pressing . Heavy gauge vinyl and SBPG 63280 confirming this . A2/B2 matrices . ( there was no A1/B1 pressed ). Disc lies flat and true on the turntable platter. There are some light marks from sleeve removal seen under angled light but nothing deep or intrusive and it plays beautifully with that magical sound that you only get from 1st master analogue pressings. Some natural " shadowing " on the vinyl surface that comes from re-cycling at the pressing plant. Again this was very common back then as demand for vinyl records was colossal. Barely noticeable though. Very acceptable copy and of course those signatures by the main men themselves probably making it a unique one-of-it's-kind !!. NEAR EX.
