Description
Here’s a glorious mono first pressing of the Zombies second and last album, which was recorded in Abbey Road in the summer of 1967, directly after the Beatles finished Sergeant Pepper’s. Many believe the mono mixes to be superior to the later stereo ones. Chris White (the band’s bassist and songwriter), recently told me that CBS’s head of A&R once informed him that this, the original release of Odessey, sold only 800 copies, making it a genuinely rare find. Most (smooth-labelled) stereo copies appeared in 1969, when Time Of The Season became such a huge hit in the States.

Sleeve condition
Crisp, with no writing or tears. The spine is fully legible. The laminate has minor creases, but nothing to detract in any way from the artwork. The rear is let down only by some very pale age marks in the white area to the left of the text. No ringwear!
Vinyl condition
Glossy with minor marks. Plays through with minor surface noise. Labels are textured, denoting a very first pressing.
