Most of my vinyl comes from my own collection and is in great, collectible condition. If not, I'll clearly describe the possible flaws or scuffs. Appr. 90% of my records are EX to Mint-. This collection contains many rare German and essential Kraut, Dutch psych and garage, UK and US progressive and folk, early electronic and psychedelic records from the period 1967 to 1975. Condition Record/Sleeve: VG+/EX- (record has a few light marks, plays with some occasional light noise in the softer passages!! Cover clean and unwritten, with corners tiny "eaten and light wear)

Extra Info: US PSYCH MONSTER !! Rare original US press LP on the golden Elektra label with original inner-sleeve !! Check your record books ...very hard to get material !!

Cosmic Sounds
Elektra Records knew what was hot in the music world of '67, having  just had a monumental hit at the hands of the DOORS first album, they arranged to release this way-out psychedelic sounds album with dark overtones & loads of wiggy effects that included mystical sounds and trippy recitation voices... 

A group of musicians teamed up as Zodiac to perform the astral- psychedelia of Mort Garson (music) and Jacques Wilson (words) on their 1967 album, Cosmic Sounds. The result was something like a cross-bred monster of Sunset Strip psychedelic rock and the kind of incidental music that you heard on the original Star Trek when aliens appeared on the screen. Each of the 12 tracks is named after a sign of the horoscope (thus the title Cosmic Sounds, get it?) Narrator Cyrus Faryar aims for a balance between Timothy Leary and Rod McKuen as he intones recklessly spaced-out evocations of each phase of the cycle.  It's got plenty of sitars, acid-rock guitar, haunting hippie organ, almost-exotic percussion. The overlayed spoken words are just too much and have to be heard to be believed. What's your sign, baby?

Zodiac Cosmic Sounds was cited by Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues as one of the inspirations for their classic  "Days of Future Passed" Lp.
