Description
This is very rare excellent original US mono copy of the first LP by The Who, Sings My Generation, released in 1966 by Decca Records. You do not own this LP unless in mono as no original master tapes were recorded in stereo, so all copies marked stereo are fake stereo or electronically processed. This very rare item has a near mint book value of $150.
As a bonus giveaway I am including a 7" 45 rpm record of singles released from Who's Next (Behind Blue Eyes and My Wife) As I do not have a 45 adapter I did not play the 45 but it looks to be very clean.
As to grading, I grade very conservatively following Goldmine Record grading standard. Except that for records that are a notch below near mint, rather than VG ++, I prefer to use grade of Excellent. I do not use VG++ grade in addition to Excellent grade as is done by some.
The LP is in excellent condition with only a couple of very light inaudible scuff/marks barely visible on Side 1. The LP was tested through headphones after manual cleaning and plays very quietly. As the LP was tested several weeks before listing it should, of course, be cleaned again before play. The cover is in excellent condition. The corners on all sides are very slightly worn. The top seam and bottom seams are strong with only minor rub wear/loss of color but no splits on either seam. The spine is strong as well with the product information clearly readable with slight rub wear. The front cover is still very nice with excellent color. There is slight bit of ring wear noticeable at top and bottom of the cover. There is a cut out hole on the top part of cover near mouth. The back cover does display slight age wear.
The LP is being sold without reserve and payment is expected within 3 days of auction close. Return of the LP will only be accepted if the same LP sold and shipped is returned in the same condition .Buyers that behave in a less than ethical manner will be reported and blocked from participation in future auctions. The LP will be separated from the cover when shipped to prevent seam splitting.
