Description
Released in 1971, 'Who's Next' is simply put, one the greatest and most revered hard rock albums of all time. Produced by Glyn Johns and The Who, the sound of this record was truly remarkable. Someone once said, Townshend's electric guitar sounded like "a thick piece of cardboard being torn in half miked up to a power of ten". I agree! Initially, Pete Townshend began working on a "spiritual" album called 'Lifehouse'; but for various reasons the project fell through. Nevertheless, the remnants from this "failed" work turned into the legendary album, 'Who's Next'.
The copy I am offering is the very first UK pressing from 1971 on the 'Track Record' label ( 2408 102 ) and the sound is absolutely incredible.....clear, full, dense, balanced, detailed, and distortion-free. With some effort this pressing can be found but RARELY in the condition that it is being offered here.
Condition of Lp Jacket: Excellent .....this very delicately constructed jacket shows only minor wear.....some light creasing along the pinched and tapered spine, a couple of the corners are lightly scuffed.....overall an excellent example of a usually well worn cover. Condition of Original Inner-Sleeve: Excellent(-).......a very nice example showing only moderate wear and a seam split at the bottom. A clean, high quality audiophile inner will be included to house the precious record.
Condition of Record: Near Mint.....a beautiful, like-new shine to both sides of the record......hardly a blemish to be seen. The matte textured labels are nearly perfect and show only a few spindle lines.....the audio is truly fantastic.
