Description

The Who - Remarkable 2008 Classic Records 200 gram Quiex SV-P reissue of the classic 1973 double LP masterpiece by The Who - Quadrophenia. Purchased new immediately following 2008 release, I have kept this duplicate copy in new, sealed condition since the original purchase. Note UPC on back cover is a sticker affixed to the poly outer sleeve, and that UPC sticker is not affixed to the actual LP cover. Original Classic Records top seal, hype sticker, and UPC retail stickers are as new from original purchase. The white rectangular sticker on the outer sleeve is simply a cover-up over the prior sales sticker. I have a "play copy" for this title, and the sound is truly remarkable. See photos.

This unmatched release of Quadrophenia was mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering. As for the sonic quality of this Classic Records 200 gram reissue, Michael Fremer wrote a review after the 2008 release for Analog Planet in which he compared prior Quad LP releases and characterized this release as the "best Quadrophenia ever." His review, and details concerning the quality of both the pressing and packaging includes the following:

"For your money, Classic gives you an utterly faithful, beautifully produced gatefold jacket and full-sized booklet heroically manufactured by Stoughton Printing, a modern-day Garrod and Lofthouse (the original UK edition was printed by Euro-Albums in Holland) that does gorgeous printing on stock that’s as close to the original as is humanly possible. Classic’s new Quiex SV-P 200g “flat profile, but lipped” vinyl is dead quiet..."
