Description

The Who - A Quick One LP 593002 (Reaction, UK, 1966)
Original UK Issue with Fully Laminated Ernest J. Day Sleeve and textured blue Reaction labels.  Mono.  A2/B1 Matrices.
  Condition (I Grade NM / EX / VG+ / VG / VG- / G / F)

Sleeve - VG The laminate is holding firm on both sides - but there is quite a lot of rubbing and creases, particularly on the seams.  Laminate is darkened around the edges - and there is edgewear where the laminate ends.  The sleeve is still solid - but the card does seem to be a bit "wavy".  Slight split in rubric, although it is still readable (see pictures) - could do with a tape to make sure it doesn't split any more.
Vinyl - VG+ The record exhibits signs of play - in the way of some light scratches and marks, but these are moderate as opposed to heavy, making it a step up from many copies of this record, which tend to be played to death.  On play there is intermittent crackle/surface noise (particularly during Boris), but it sort of sits behind the music.  There is also some raspiness in places - which a better system/cart/stylus may be able to cope with better - but that's the only issues really.  There is above-crackle level clicks or overpowering noise, apart from the music of course(!)   The music sounds the best I've ever heard it here -and it's a joy to crank up!  Fans who used to the reissues (particularly the stereo/remixed stereo cds) may be taken aback by how more wantonly crunchy and distorted it sounds here - it was INTENTIONALLY cut this way, and wasn't recorded in Sound City circa Rumours conditions to start with, so bear this in mind.  This is not a clarity record...more like a kick in the face with a custard pie.

Who Wants This?
I was thrilled to bits when I originally got this.  And unless you are very fastidous over condition, I think you will be too.  The sleeve could be better, but the record plays fantastic.

POSTAGE -Recorded Royal Mail - £4.20 Second Class.  £4.70 First Class.
