RSD 7” still sealed on Rhythm and Blues records, REP03-7. The Who made their very first US television appearance before an astonished teenage audience in A.B.C. Television's top rating pop show "Shindig". Recorded on Tuesday, August 3rd 1965 on Stage 3 of Twickenham Film Studios the live versions of Daddy Rolling Stone and My Generation were spread over different editions of the bi-weekly show introduced by host DJ Jimmy O'Neill. Daddy Rolling Stone was shown on Thursday 30 December 1965. My Generation was broadcast on the last-ever Shindig, Thursday 6 January 1966. Shout & Shimmy and Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere were recorded as part of "Ready Steady Richmond" at the Richmond Athletic Association grounds on August 6th and shown on Thursday 9 December as the second part of "Shindig Goes to London!".
