I bought this to cure a specific record that was valuable to me and it has served its purpose.  After receiving a sealed 1961 Decca LP in the mail I was beside myself when it had become warped due to being left in my mailbox in the sun.  I looked at all the options I could find online and YouTube videos to repair my one-of-a-kind LP and none of them were without absolute risk.  I came across the Vinyl Flat based on overwhelming feedback from a vinyl/LP forum I frequent and contacted John at Vinyl Flat to explain my situation.  He has fabricated a fabulous device and researched the safest methods to ensure minimal risk and high success rate, and I decided it was worth the cost to try it if it solved this one LP issue I had.  Now that it has I would like to sell it at a reduced price for someone else that may also benefit from this solution.

The kit comes with the two Vinyl Flat plates, two Groovy Rings (they surround the LP itself), hardware, instructions, and Groovy Pouch (I did not buy the optional heating element for using inside the pouch alone because I did not use it in that fashion for my needs.  You can always buy that from Vinyl Flat anytime if that is something you want).  The backside of the instructions has a full list of various record labels and their unique weights.  This compiled list provides the estimated Heating/Cooling cycles based on each LP's unique weight anywhere from 90 gram DynaFlex to 200 gram type of LPs.  Given the tested research that went into this design solution, the success rate is very high if the directions are followed.  DIY methods are risky because you only get one chance, and the likelihood of distorting the actual microgrooves is almost guaranteed.  I can't say enough good things about it except I hope not to need its assistance again!  If I do I won't hesitate to get another.
