The fourth and last The Velvet Underground album featuring the band's founder and lyrics author Lou Reed who had left the band shortly before the release of "Loaded". It's perhaps for this particular reason the very early 1st copies of this album were equipped with a white round hype sticker informing the buyer that Lou Reed had participated in the recording of the album. This extremely rare sticker is located in the upper right-hand corner of the front cover. The sticker isn't the only confirmation that the copy is a very early 1st pressing, because the trail-off vinyl contains the unique -A1 / -A1 matrix stampers. Not only this copy was manufactured by Atlantic Records, which can be read about on the Cotillion labels "Mfg. by Atlantic Recording Corp., 1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.", but was also ,mastered by Atlantic Studios as identified by the "AT" abbreviation in the runout groove. This very early 1st pressing copy was pressed by PRC Recording Company in Richmond, IN and has the following full matrix numbers and identifiers: Side 1 - ST-CTN-7020029-A-1-111 AT QB PRC W / Side 2 - ST-CTN-702030-A-1 AT QB W.

It's extremely hard to find a copy of this album in such a great condition. The Excellent Minus cover doesn't have any ring wear on the front, which remains very clean. The back cover has some very light shelf wear and ring wear at the top and bottom as seen on the photos. The cover doesn't have any splits, writing or tears, perhaps only having some super light occasional edge scuffing. The original Atlantic Records inner sleeve is in Near Mint Minus condition. I grade the glossy vinyl as Excellent Minus as Side 1 barely has any marks and Side 2 has only a few very light surface scuffs from the original inner sleeve. The Near Mint labels are very clean and are completely scuff and wear-free. The vinyl sounds fantastic without any skips, pops or clicks and even barely has any background noise.
