This is my own copy of this brilliant Tamla/Motown single which I bought new (probably in early 1965), from "Cowlings" record shop in Leicester. You can see the shop sticker on the picture of the cover. I gather that this song and specifically this recording subsequently became quite a hit in the Northern Soul movement and I can understand why because it was always one of our favourites for dancing in the 1960s.
The disc was manufactured in London at the EMI factory under licence from Stateside in the USA. I have the recording on various Tamla CDs but I've digitised this particular recording as well into my library because it just sounds that little bit more exciting on the 45 disc. 
The disc itself plays through nicely with no jumps, skips or sticks. It is a loud recording so any slight needle crackle is masked by the sheer volume. These 1960s soul discs all sounded quite raucous and that was the attraction and excitement of playing them (and dancing to them). If anybody out there is buying one of those new-wave jukeboxes, this would be great for putting in the collection.
The sleeve is the original Stateside/EMI for the disc in the UK and it's looking a bit old and tired. The side ends have been slightly sliced by the disc edges so I've put little paper inserts in to strengthen it all and it's OK. The disc is pretty clean with just light surface marks and is in much better shape than the sleeve.
