Description
All records have been played before listing on my Thorens TD 160 with an Ortofon Turbo element in order to give you proper information. Originally a London R&B coverband led by Steve Nardelli but with the introduction of future Yes musicians Chris Squire and Peter Banks, Andrew Jackman and Martyn Adelman they changed their style towards psychedelia and freakbeat. This is their debutsingle as 'The Syn' from 1967 on DERAM 130 that was imported hurriedly because of hitparade potention and looks exactly the same as the UK issue, but the multicoloured Popartsleeve with advertisements on the flipside for other artists has been pressed in The Netherlands, a true bonus! 'Created By Clive' is leaning a bit towards Bluebeat/Rocksteady/Ska with a very subtle organsound. A truly doubledsided 45 with two smashing songs, Nardelli's flipside 'Grounded' is as Mod as Mod can be and beyond any doubt the 'real thing':a good composition, inspired instrumentation, a convincing singer and great vocal harmonies;it is in a class of its own and can easily compete with Townshend, Marriott and Ray Davies. Vinyl has all its original gloss and some negligible paperscuffs, definitely M- and the cover has the slightest of ringwear and some marks of careful use at the topopening, but no wear and tear whatsoever, in other words: EX- Remember, my gradings are very strict, severe and sincere.
