Description
Released in 1988, this double album compiles a decent dip into the extensive Clash catalogue, covering the period between 1977 and 1982. Singles output and album tracks.
Originally intended, as the title implies, as the first of a two part package, with Volume 2 planned as a compilation of live tracks.
That never happened under the terms of this package.
The LP was released and distributed extensively worldwide, on the CBS/Epic/Columbia stable, and there are a large number of pressings, variations and reissues.
This copy is an original 1988 CBS version, pressed and printed in Holland for the generic European market.
It comes in the red coloured sleeve (there are blue ones) with gloss paper inners containing famous Pennie Smith photos and rambling liner notes by Strummer, writing as band valet, Albert Transum
Albums and sleeve are both in excellent condition. Play-tested in full and reproduction is free from jumps, skips and scratches.
A very nice copy of a collectors item.
