Here is your opportunity to own a beautiful pressing of the Self Titled Album from The Stooges. This album was the very first studio recording for The Stooges. It did not sell well at the time, but it has gone on to become a landmark album. Rolling Stone Magazine has ranked this album 185th out of the top 500 albums of all time. This is LP is highly sought after and only grows in value and scarcity. This particular LP is the very first pressing from 1969 on Elektra records. This particular LP has EKS 74051 A-1 CTH SS44 T as the matrix number in the dead wax, on side one. Side two of the LP has EKS 74051 B CTH SS44 T etched on the dead wax. The vinyl is in Excellent condition. The LP has a few very light hairline scratches and paper scuffs on each side. Side one has a few more blemishes than side two. The blemishes are only cosmetic and quite hard to identify. The LP playback sound quality is Outstanding. The LP labels are in outstanding shape with only a few light spindle marks. The red labels have the deep groove press which indicates a very first pressing. This album will also include the original Elektra inner sleeve. It is in fair shape. The inner sleeve has some scotch tape on two of the seams and a crease down middle. It appears to have been folded at one time. The LP cover is in Excellent/Very Good Plus condition. The LP cover has a very mild amount of ring wear on the front/back. The seams/spine are all tight and intact. They all have a minor amount of wear. The spine is completely legible. All of the corners also have a fair amount of rounding. The bottom two corners have some creasing. The top right corner also has a crease and a punch hole. This album has been professionally cleaned on a VPI 16.5 and will be shipped in a brand new white inner sleeve. The LP cover will be shipped in a brand new 3 mil poly sleeve.
