Description

An original 1st press of SAILOR on the UK Capitol label from early 1969. Matrix A6/A6. Stampers 1M/1P - placing it within the 1st few thousand copies ever pressed. Note, importantly, the labels mention the 'sold in the UK ..' blurb which can only be found on 1st pressings. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original stereo cover with flipbacks. Also included is the original black and white Emi advertising inner sleeve. So, it's 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In great condition - just look at the label shots. This is a very well cared for low mileage. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very light marks per side, and a couple of very superficial trails - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. A beautifully preserved originally pressing which dishes out some pretty amazing audio. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and clean and the audio comes across with superb clarity. I detected just a touch of low-level static in the opening passage of 'ANCESTORS' - which I'd imagine is very difficult indeed to avoid entirely on any copy. But other than that it's just a clean player throughout - a really very high standard. And I'd argue you're gonna really need that on this title. If it's not clean it will quickly spoil this release in a flash. A really superb player. Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex) Is preserved in excellent order and looks real smart. Lovely clean and flat front without creasing. Pleased to report that that fantastic image on the rear is looking super. No dulling of the image, hardly any wear, and no signs of ageing really. That's gotta be a difficult find. All flipbacks are intact and secure. The spine looks in great order with all text visible and just a couple of minor stress creases. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing. No splits.
