Description
Sailor is the second studio album by The Steve Miller Band, released in 1968. It was the last Steve Miller Band album to feature contributions by Boz Scaggs. The Boz also co-wrote the song "My Friend" on Side 1. The album peaked at number 24 on the Billboard 200 and one of my favorites, "Living in the U.S.A." hit number 94 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1968. The song was covered in 1969 by Wilmer and the Dukes.
The album is in near mint condition. It has one small hairline scratch on Side 1 at 9:00 pm (as if you were looking at a clock). On Side 2, there is one more small hairline scratch at about 12:15 pm. Smooth sailing after that for Sailor. The album cover is still in the original shrink wrap, thus the album cover is in mint condition. The album sleeve is in excellent condition, with slight aging around the edges.
This album is the original 1968 release and is on a black label with colorband; it is valued higher than its later re-issue. The re-issue, in 1970, is on a green label.
Please note shipping charges a usually run between $5.32 - $9.97.
Hope you enjoy this album's pre-success Steve Miller Band before mega success came in 1973 with "The Joker" and 1976 with "Fly Like an Eagle". That said, I still can't go one Fourth of July without hearing "Living in the U.S.A." - loud!
