Extremely Rare Consignment
THE SOUND OF LEADERSHIP
RCA Victor SPD-19
Limited Special Edition
Souvenir item for employees at RCA Victor company meeting in Miami in June, 1956
Contained in the offering, along with others under contract, was a single track by an up
and coming star --- Heartbreak Hotel by Elvis Presley
Past internet searches (you can verify if you dig) indicate that this is one of the rarest Elvis vinyl collectibles
in existence -- and even rarer in this condition. You will find incomplete sets and you will find those
of far less quality than was we have offered here.
The single Elvis track is what determines the value of this complete set.
An appraisal I saw on-line indicated that the complete set was valued at $1800-2200 - one Elvis guide
showed $800 for the Elvis record alone (granted, this was a few years ago when the market was quite different).
There are eight records in this set - all are extended play 45 rpm with two tracks per side for a total of 32 tracks.
The included four-page booklet (which is in excellent, near mint condition) indicates that the recordings were all
"million-sellers" and mentioned "in the first four months of 1956, three RCA Victor records reached the golden
million mark -- Kay Starr's Rock and Roll Waltz; Perry Como's Hot Diggity; and Heartbreak Hotel, a disc
by a bright new star, 21-year old Elvis Presley."
