The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging in a 'box' mailer with the record outside the sleeve to avoid seam-splitting. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.

The Smiths - 'Strangeways Here We Come' German Grey Vinyl LP - 1987

This auction is for an original 1987 'charcoal grey' vinyl German pressing of 'Strangeways Here We Come'; it is an official release on the 'Rough Trade Germany' label, and is not a recent 're-issue' or 'bootleg' pressing. The colour of the vinyl is subtly different to the standard black vinyl pressing and can be seen as a disctinctly lighter shade when held to the light. The reverse of the sleeve differs from other pressings in having the 'RTD 60' catalogue number in the top right, and the German credits at the bottom. Such original coloured vinyl pressings are now becoming harder and harder to track down as they are increasingly bought up by collectors and disappear from the market in collectable condition. This copy has survived in an extremely well-preserved condition, and would make a very nice addition to any Smiths collection.The vinyl is in near mint condition, being possibly unplayed, with only the very lightest of 'hairline' superficial surface marks on the vinyl in a few places. The original lyric inner sleeve is present and has little sign of wear, with no creases or seam-splitting, and the outer sleeve is similarly in near mint condition with no visible creases or seam-splitting and with all edges sharp. There is just the very mildest of 'corner wear' to one corner and the faintest trace of a red mark towards the lower right corner on the front, but otherwise there are very little signs of use at all and the record and sleeve both appear almost new in condition after nearly thirty years. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
