Description
The Smiths – “How Soon Is Now?” (1988) vintage withdrawn 3 LP Set - Rare (free shipping / no tariffs)
This is a rare triple LP vinyl record set by The Smiths, titled "how soon is now ?". It bundles together three standard Portuguese albums in the same package as follows:
- Hatful Of Hollow (Transmedia / Rough Trade TM/RT 76)
- The Queen Is Dead (Transmedia / Rough Trade Rough 96)
- Strangeways, Here We Come (Transmedia / Rough Trade Rough 106)
The record set was assembled in Germany in 1988 using Portuguese pressings inserted into a unique sleeve design and then exported throughout Europe. There is speculation as to the legitimacy of the release, as it was hastily withdrawn from sale either because it was released without the permission of Rough Trade, or due to quality issues with the packaging. Regardless, it is pretty scarce and hard to find. Catalogue number 12005. Two of the albums have the pressing date on the matrix run off. See below. Purchased by me in Dublin, Ireland, in 1988 and stored un-played ever since.
The uniqueness of the package and the custom sleeve design will appeal to Smiths completists as well as anybody wanting to obtain the albums on original vintage 80's vinyl.
