The Smiths - Hatful of Sorrow - Original Rough Trade - Rough 76 - Gatefold. Aston Clinton Pressing. This first issue UK variant has the following distinguishing characteristics:
Gatefold sleeve with Garrod & Lofthouse credit on back cover;
Aston Clinton 'Λ' or '>' symbol in runouts, and characteristic Aston Clinton pressing rings;
Correct black dot before 'Girl Afraid' on rear sleeve, as opposed to the misprinted Hatful Of Hollow;
Front sleeve sticker has 'Rough 76' at top, '1983+84' before 'John Peel' and the R.R.P. of £3.99;
Inner sleeve has songs in an order different from the tracklisting, with most of the A-side songs on the flipback side.
Copies may exist with or without hype sticker.
