Description
Available this time is a sealed copy of In The Beginning by The Slits on vinyl. This is a limited edition double album created for RSD 2024. The Slits were known for their uncompromising attitude and aggressive, confrontational music, first seen on their 1977 tour with The Clash. To this day they are cited as being hugely inspiring to many female artists. But even their seminal Island Records 1979 debut album Cut, with its infamous sleeve of the band members naked and caked in mud, does not capture the true energy and spontaneity as well as these live recordings do. From an early, chaotic punk-era show which includes classics such as “Shoplifting,” “Newtown” and “Love & Romance,” the album shows how they evolved into their dubby, reggae-influenced style with songs such as “Typical Girls,” and finishes with a track from their last-ever performance in 1981. Features guests Nina Hagen and Neneh Cherry. Pressed on blue coloured vinyl with only 1000 copies are available. An excellent addition to any Slits collection.
Grading is by visual inspection only. I never rate anything as mint, that is just the way I look at things as there might be a slight imperfection I cannot see. Near mint is the highest I grade. I do my best to package everything as best I can. Unfortunately small things may happen in shipping like minor bumps to the sleeve or seam splits. Inner sleeve seam splits are not considered defective unfortunately. That is not covered by any insurance through the shipping company. If you would like the record taken out of the sleeve, please let me know and I will ship it that way for you. If on the rare time the item arrives broken, that is covered. Please send pictures if that has happened.Item is located in Canada.
