THE SHADOWS - 'THE SHADOWS'
Recorded in Abbey Road's 'Studio 2' between 26 October 1960 and 21 June 1961 this, their debut album was recorded in stereo and mono simultaneously, but separately within the same session. The result is a fine example of the pure Abbey Road studio sound which was never bettered for quality.
This exquisite sounding example of this influential album is a 1st STEREO pressing dating from September 1961.
On the old-style green & silver Columbia label: SCX 3414

Housed in a front-laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover, complete with original poly-lined inner-sleeve.

This beautiful example appears to have been barely, if ever played and both playing surface are unmakred and are 'as new' both in strong dayight AND beneath halogen light. the sound qulaity is superb and worth the price of admission for that alone. You won't find a better copy.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A really clean & strong exmaple which retains a sparkling unworn front laminate. There is minor shelfwear to the tips of the lower corners and a small bruise to the upper right, but both opening edges are clean & unworn. The rear panel is pristine showing just a hint of toning to the opening but no writing ormissing paper anywhere. We would have graded this EX+ if it were not for a repaired 8cm split runningfrom the lower right corner inwards. The upper seam and spine are totally unworn.
