Description

A genuine Columbia 1st STEREO press from 1962. Matrix 2/2. These distinctive early Columbia Stereo labels were only issued in the early sixties. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original stereo cover with flipbacks. We also have the original Stereo inner too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side with one or two just getting feelable - and just sounding very briefly [see detail]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations per side. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Playing clean into all of those lowkey instrumental sections - not exclusively though. Expect a touch of light background in one track per side [e.g. Cosy]. Nothing upfront or annoying - they won't play quite as clean as in other sectors. I also picked out a couple of isolated clicks on side 1 and side 2. Overall, and predominantly, rather impressive and a very fine rendition of this classic stereo cut.
Cover (Vg+) Very nice and flat front with just a couple of thumbnails. The rear has avoided much of the usual the ageing process - just slightest evidence. All flipbacks totally intact and secure. Minimal edge wear and sharp firm openings. Text on  spine is 90% legible - a couple of stress creases. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Some ageing. Bag present. No splits.
