Description

An original 1st press of the debut on Columbia from 1961. Matrix 1N/1N. Stampers 1-R/2-GD. Please note labels are consistent with very 1st press dark-green in colour and two distinctive grooves. Tax code 'WOT' - dating this Lp to just after summer '61 when the 1st pressings were produced for release in November '61. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover with flipbacks. 
Vinyl (Ex+) In absolutely stunning condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we struggled to make out more than a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Audio quality is absolutely top-draw and you can really hear you're not far from those original masters because the clarity and warmth in the sound is impressive. Interference is totally absent. We didn't detect more than a couple of crackles the whole way through. It is a superb rendition by any standard.
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and has been looked after down the years. Lovely shiny front with minimal creasing and just a bit of left-over sticker residue in the bottom right corner. The rear has escaped the worst of the usual fading and looks in nice condition. All flipbacks are intact and edge wear is very light. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat.
