Description
An original 1st press of STONE AGE on the UK Decca label from 1971. Matrix 1D/2D. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Robert Stace cover. Record shops were given a promotional catalogue booklet [12 pages] at the time of release which included the Stones back catalogue on Decca. Also included is an original blue and white stereo Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% original. Vinyl (Ex+) In absolutely superb shape and has clearly only seen the lightest of use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference is practically non-existent. All we detected was a couple of crackles in a couple of brief moments [literally]. A truly superb pressing and a great rendition of these Stones tracks.
Cover (Ex+) In fantastic condition and looks shiny like new. The front practically crease free and really does look amazing. The only tiny thing we can spot is a tiny abrasion to the top edge - about 1c.m...but you have to look carefully to even spot it. The rear, which often lets the side down, is in remarkable condition. It has pretty much totally escaped ageing or marking. Edge wear is very light and the text on the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat. A very fine example indeed!
Booklet (Ex) Perfect condition. Has not been heavily thumbed. One tiny crease. No markings. Just the record shop on the rear [which is unavoidable].
Inner (Ex) No splits. Great condition.
