Not many sellers name the artist and promoter Andy Warhol directly responsible for scratching one of his records. Well I do! This cover was designed by a person called, Craig Braun, under the direction of said Andy Warhol, who made the suggestion to include a metal zip. Years of packing the Lp in record storage boxes under pressure has resulted in the zip handle scratching these early pressings. This was not the first design disaster he came up with. A couple of years before he worked on a Velvet Underground album where his all to clever mind came up with the idea for a die cut banana shape to stand proud of the main cover on two thin spindly legs. Again when packed resulted in the banana getting ripped of and in most cases lost. I have seen many copys of both albums, all with the same common faults.
So this is my way of letting you know you can expect a few scratches and a little resulting noise. The record plays through without jumps or skips or warping. The zip still works in part, me personally I never had the urge to lower it fully, just in case Mick Jagger decided to go commando on a limited few.
Best thinking of this lot as a playable copy, but more so as a trophy of a usually high priced highly collectable Rock classic album.
