MEGA RARE 1971 ORIGINAL PRESSING OF THE ROLLING STONES, STICKY FINGERS IN THE SOUGHT AFTER ANDY WARHOL 'PAN ZIP' SLEEVE!! Artist:The Rolling Stones Title: Sticky Fingers Year: 1971 Country: UK Label: The Rolling Stones Cat No: COC 59100 Matrix A: COC 59100 A4 - 'T.M.L THE ROLLING STONES RECORDS' etched in deadwax Matrix B: COC 59100 B4 - 'THE ROLLING STONES RECORDS' etched in the deadwax Condition: EX / EX Sleeve: The original Andy Warhol zipper sleeve is in excellent condition (see images). The tapered style corners and edges are crisp with minimal wear and the spine is fully legible. The zipper is fully functioning and is the rare 'PAN' zip, often referred to as the 'big zip sleeve.' Only the very first copies of Sticky Fingers were shipped with these large zips which were later substituted to the smaller rectangular zips when retailers complained that they caused damage to the vinyl when stacked in factory boxes. This makes these issues extremely rare indeed. The heavy card insert is also excellent condition. It features the first appearance of the Rolling Stones 'Tounge & Lips' logo on one side with a image of the band on the reverse. It has crisp edges and no creasing but does have the beginnings of some small brown age spots to the top edge. The inner paper bag is also in excellent condition with no rips, tears or text. Excellent condition in all, if not better! Vinyl: The vinyl itself is also in excellent condition. It reveals some minor hairlines when held under strong light and also has he small rectangular mark common with these early big zip pressings which results from the zips pressing the vinyl when packaged on top of one another in factory boxes. Having test played the record I can say these issues do not affect playback at all, the sound is crisp and extremely clear with no skips, pops or jumps and only the hint of audible background noise in the run ins/outs! In all a fantastic copy in excellent condition if not better. Info: Sticky Fingers is the ninth British and 11th American studio album by English rock band the Rolling Stones, released in April 1971. It is the band's first album of the 1970s and its first release on the band's newly formed label, Rolling Stones Records, after having been contracted since 1963 with Decca Records in the UK and London Records in the US. It is also Mick Taylor's first full-length appearance on a Rolling Stones album, the first Rolling Stones album not to feature any contributions from guitarist and founder Brian Jones and the first one on which singer Mick Jagger is credited with playing guitar. Sticky Fingers is widely regarded as one of the Rolling Stones' best albums. It achieved triple platinum certification in the US and contains songs such as the chart-topping "Brown Sugar", the country ballad "Wild Horses", the Latin-inspired "Can't You Hear Me Knocking", and the sweeping ballad "Moonlight Mile". ----------------------------------- Graded using the record collectors guide.
