THIS ALBUM IS STILL COVERED AND PROTECTED BY ITS ORIGINAL FACTORY SEALED PLASTIC SHRINK WRAP. ITS FRONT AND BACK COVERS ARE BOTH FLAWLESS. ALL FOUR EDGES ARE CLEAN AND STRAIGHT. EVEN THE CORNERS ARE NEARLY FLAWLESS; 2/4 HAVE MERELY A SPECK OF RUB THAT IS BARELY VISIBLE.

DISCOGRAPHY:

In 1965, the Stones finally proved themselves capable of writing classic rock singles that mined their R&B/blues roots, but updated them into a more guitar-based, thoroughly contemporary context. The first enduring Jagger-Richards classics are here -- "The Last Time," its menacing, folky B-side "Play With Fire," and the riff-driven "Satisfaction," which made them superstars in the States and defined their sound and rebellious attitude better than any other single song. On the rest of the album, they largely opted for mid-'60s soul covers, Marvin Gaye's "Hitch Hike," Solomon Burke's "Cry to Me," and Sam Cooke's "Good Times" being particular standouts. "I'm All Right" (based on a Bo Diddley sound) showed their 1965 sound at its rawest, and there are a couple of fun, though derivative, bluesy originals in "The Spider and the Fly" and "The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man."

ABOUT MY RECORDS

I inherited all of my vinyl from the private collection of a 25+ year London Records Executive who worked for the label in New York City during the 60s, 70s, and into the late-80s. He held a senior role at the label, which allowed him unique insider access to many original first press editions when they were first released in the US as well as some rare test pressings. He worked directly on US marketing and promotion for The Rolling Stones throughout most of the 1960s when they were at the height of their fame, which is why I have so many early pressings of US Stones records. 

The collection overall is vast and diverse with a myriad of albums and artists spanning more than 30-40 years and over a dozen music genres. The lion’s share fall into three main categories: 

Rock, Classical Symphony & Opera, and Jazz.
