Description

An original STEREO 1st press of AFTERMATH on UK Decca. Matrix 1W/2W. Please note labels exhibit the deep groove you can only find on 1st pressings. Also note that this stereo copy is way way harder to find than a mono 1st. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Stereo Robert Stace cover with pinched spine. We also have an original Decca inner sleeve too. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In super condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Intros and inbetweens are beautifully quiet and the audio comes across with super clarity. A very collectable and sought after 1st stereo - but it's the preservation levels that takes this copy up to another notch. The audio is just clean signalled throughout very impressive indeed for a vintage stereo. And it is a consistently clean payer even into the quieter moments. An absolute cracker. Even 'Lady Jane' plays clean - I could just detect a few minor static crackles in this super fussy track. Overall - hard to find much fault really. Perhaps one solitary isolated tick in 'Dontcha!' & 'Waiting' & then just a couple of slight ticks in 'Going Home'. That's it! Highly recommended from all angles.
Cover (Vg+) Again, you don't tend to find these mid-sixties covers looking this tidy. The front is perfectly flat and only exhibits a couple of thumbnails. Often the front exhibits a lot of laminate creasing - none of that! The rear is often found looking pretty torrid by this point in time. This example has escaped the worst of the ageing process. Just some light ageing evident up in the upper reaches, and the Lp length written in blue ink. Minimal edge wear and firm openings. Text on the spine is 100% intact with just one stress crease. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. Bag present. No splits.
