Description

An original 1st press of GHS on the UK Rolling Stones label. Matrix A2/B1 - very 1st cut. Please note the labels have no perimeter text in the upper hemisphere and this indicative of 1st issue. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Also included is the original blue text white inner sleeve, the chocolate-brown credit insert, and the promo poster. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In super condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation in the final track. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Very nice player for the most part with some quality audio as you'd expect from an early pressing. Interference is mostly light and infrequent. We could detect a touch of lightest static in one or two spots..e.g. 'Coming Down' - but very minor. The one issue I do have with this copy is in that final track 'STAR'..perhaps due it being an inner track, or due to a higher level of use...I'm detecting distortion in the audio which at times invades a bit occasionally during the song. So, if you a need a clean player the whole way through maybe this isn't your copy. If this, however, is something you can compromise on then the remainder of the LP will rightly impress.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) These GHS covers are a real pain to find in top condition. But this example has most certainly been looked after more carefully than most that surface. Lovely clean front with none of that surface wear or scuff marks that so are exhibited on copies - truly impressive. The rear is in lovely condition too with just one crease and a couple of very slight indentations. The interior is immaculate - no issues at all. Edge wear is extremely slight for this title and the openings are still sharp. That all important spine is close on perfect - very difficult to find like this. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains a terrific looking example.
Poster (Ex) Very very nice. One tiny crease top-left corner.
Credit sheet (Ex+) Absolutely faultless.
Inner sleeve (Ex-) Bit of light ageing. No splits or markings.
