Description

1973 The Rolling Stones – Goats Head Soup – 1977 pressing SEALED / New Old Stock.   Still Factory-Sealed in Shrink Wrap with Hype Stickers!    ULTRA RARE COC 39106 Spine Sticker covers the original 1973 COC 59101 catalog number.    NO Bar Code!!!    Glorious all analogue/AAA/pre-digital vinyl pressing.   [New (and any other records pressed after 1985) 2020/2021 Rolling Stones vinyl records are all digitally remastered].    New/Sealed/never used/never opened in shrink.  

1977 Rolling Stones - Goats Head Soup (GHS) in 1973 Gatefold jacket with COC 39106 sticker on spine.    LP remains sealed in shrink wrap – new and unused.    GHS LP is assumed MINT.    Shrink wrap is partially opened, approximately 2.5”, due to record store clearance punch hole at lower right.

This Goats Head Soup gatefold jacket was originally issued with the 1973 pressings of #COC 59101, but the publisher, Promotone B.V., changed the catalog number for the 1977 releases while reusing the earlier jacket until they ran out.    The publisher simply pasted a pink “COC 39106” sticker on the spine to cover the 1973 "COC 59101" catalog number – see photos – putting this record in the very first run of the 1977 reissues.    Later 1977 GHS pressings were issued in sleeves with the 1977 COC 39106 catalog number correctly printed on the jacket’s spine.

All analogue AAA pressing.    Specific 1977 pressing plant and matrices are unknown due to intact shrink wrap.   LP is assumed in Mint condition.   Gatefold Sleeve is in near mint condition due to punch hole.   Printed inner is assumed near mint.   No returns if opened.
