Description

The Rolling Stones        "Flowers"

This is a Taiwan import vinyl pressing on CSJ-610, which was originally issued in 1967.        This was a compilation album (originally released in the USA).      It is Stereo and pressed on black vinyl.     The labels are yellow with black print.     It comes in a single pocket cover.      The front cover has a unique color picture of The Stones.     The cover is light brown inside.      The lyrics are printed on the back cover.      There is a typo on the B-side label : "Sittin On A Fenoe".

The songs are the same as a US pressing.

Taiwan imports are records pressed on the island of Formosa (Nationalist China).    They are copied from US albums and pressed by small record companies with no regard for US copyright laws.    These small record companies replace the record number and company logo with theirs, which is printed in Chinese characters.     The cover and labels don't say 'Made in Taiwan', but it might be printed in Chinese.    These were sold to US servicemen stationed in Formosa, who brought them back to the USA.    Then they had to be sold to a used record store before they could be bought by a record collector.    They were pressed in very limited numbers and are hard to find in great condition.      The covers are thin paper which is covered in thin plastic on the outside and on the inside.         They have very thin edges and no spines.      Many covers are different and many have the lyrics printed on the back cover.    Some have other albums covers printed inside the cover.      The records were pressed on poor quality vinyl and always have some static between the songs.    The labels are always different and many have spelling errors.       The records do not come in inner sleeves.

Taiwan imports are for the collector that already has a great copy to listen to, but still wants to add a rare and unusual record to their record collection.

Overall Condition is : Cover is VG+ /  Record is VG

The cover is VG+ with no writing and no seam splits.         There is light ring wear, light stretches in the plastic, light handling stains along the mouth on the back, and a slight impression from the record.             The vinyl looks VG+ and it plays VG, with light handling marks and light static.           The labels are clean with no spindle marks.       The record does not come in an inner sleeve (but I will mail it in one).

About Me :

I started collecting records in 1966.     I started selling records in Goldmine in 1985.      I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby.       And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon.     On Discogs I am 'Fragilerecords'.       My records are from a no smoking and no pets home.      I am a record collector, not a DJ, so I almost never play my records.

I take great care on every package and I do each one personally.     I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard.     Each piece is 1/2 inch thick, triple strength industrial cardboard.       Together they are very strong and unbendable.       I always remove the record from the cover and put it in a paper sleeve and seal them both in a clear plastic sleeve.     The package will be marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides.
