Description
My play tested copy of the 1972 release of Exile on Main Street by The Rolling Stones. Rolling Stones Records COC 69100
This the 1972 U.K. release. It’s the Unipak Style gatefold sleeve (opens from the inside). This is the Grey TM issue - see photo with TM by the lips logo on the bottom rear right. Unfortunately the postcards are missing.
Matrix runouts - First three sides have ROLLING STONES RECORDS etched on the runout but I can’t see it on Side 4 nor can I can I see ST-RS-7225 etched on Side 4.
Side One ST-RS-7225 07 COC 9100 A1
Side Two ST-RS-7225 08 COC 69100 B2
Side Three ST-RS-7225 09 COC 6900 C1
Side Four COC 69100 D3
All four sides have some surface marks and light surface scratches. I have play tested the album and it plays very well and it’s conservatively graded VG.
I noted a a low audible pop on Rocks off (Side One, Track One). There is crackle through the quiet sections of Sweet Virginia (Side Two, Track one). There’s a static like pop on Let it Loose (Side Three, Track Five). There is also some crackle noticeable on Shine a Light (Side Four, Track Three). There is the usual crackle between tracks throughout.
The cover is graded VG+ with some wear on the spines. The inner gatefold has partially come away but can easily be reattached.
The record labels are in nice condition - see photos.
The inner sleeves are in really nice condition and graded VG+.
The record will be in an acid free sleeve with inners outside to prevent splitting in transit. It will posted in a record mailer using the appropriate Royal Mail service to cover insurance.
