Description

An original Mono 1st press of Big Hits/High Tide on the UK Decca label. Matri 2A/4A. Please not labels are consistent with 1st press and still exhibit the 'deep-groove' which was phased out during 1967. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original mono gatefold cover with internal photo pages - attached [per 1st issue]. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve date coded to three months prior to release in the autumn ['087'=Aug 1967]. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In astonishing condition and has clearly only seen the lightest use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of superficial marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Very difficult finding this title in top condition. Sometimes they look good only to disappoint you on playback. This one is the real deal - it looks great and plays great too! The audio is superb straight from those early mono masters - what's not to like? Interfence is very minor indeed. All we dected was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. It really is a very clean playing copy and certainly one of the best I've auditioned in a long time.
Cover (Ex+) Again, not difficult to find per se - but finding a truly well looked after copy is not such an easy task. This copy is amazingly well preserved. Lovely shiny front without the usual creasing. The only defect is a touch of laminate lift over in the top-left corner. The rear is in similarly fine condition - absolutely clear of creasing or marks. The interior is a sight to behold. All the pages are intact and they have not been heavily thumbed. They're all crease and rumple free - just like new in fact. Edge wear is very very light and the spine is 100% intact. A truly impressive cover and one that would be nigh on impossible to improve upon.
Inner (Vg+) Bit of ageing. No side splits. Small tear to inner circle.
