Description

An original 1st stereo press of BTBs on the UK Decca label. Matrix 4k/5k. Stampers 1-BK/1-BG. The label design is perfectly consistent with very 1st press and MUST include a Decca deep groove. And note how the stereo 1st press is a difficult copy to find - the stereo format was yet to get a significant foothold in the market until a couple of years later. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original James Upton stereo cover. 
Vinyl (Ex-) In very nice condition and has only seen reasonably light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. By and large a very decent rendition which delivers some great audio. Expect a touch of light static in a couple of passages per side. The only deviation is in 'Back Street Girl' - I'm getting a bit of low-level crackle ... nothing too noticeable, and more than acceptable. Overall a great rendition from this very collectable genuine stereo 1st.
Cover (Vg+) Supremely difficult to find in anything approaching half decent condition. Most copies will surface looking wrecked, but this example still looks quite respectable. A smart and shiny looking front cover with just a bit of wear over at the opening edge. The rear seems to have avoided the worst of the usual ageing proces. Only light tanning mostly with just a bit more at the extremities. But this example is looking a lot better than most that surface. The spine is pretty much entirely intact with all text legible - much better than what usually surfaces. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity. A very nice and original 1st stereo press.
