Description

An original and genuine very 1st STEREO press of BTB's. Matrix 5W/4W. Stampers 1-BG/1-BK. Please note how the labels still exhibit the Decca deep groove as found on the 1st pressings. And remember around Xmas 1966 Stereo was still far from becoming the format of choice for the UK public. The vinyl comes housed in a true and genuine very 1st stereo cover with pinched spine. We also have a genuine Decca STEREO 1966 poly-lined inner. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. I tend to find the audio quite disappointing on this title with many copies - particularly as the 70's rolled in. But I have to say this genuine 1st from early '67 really does a fantastic job on this title. For what is, in reality, quite a fussy Stones title - there's great detailed audio present here. Crank it right up to max and REALLY hear this title for the 1st time... Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Interference is minimal and fleeting. Just a touch of slight static occasionally observable in BSG. Nothing noticeable at all - it just won't play quite as darn clean as the rest of the LP. Overall a terrific player - a collectors copy for sure.
Cover (Vg+) The original copies are an absolute nightmare to find in decent condition - so don't underestimate this grading level. A beautifully clean flat and uncreased front cover - impressive! They tend to crease and age and exhibit laminate lift - so this one is certainly a cut above the average copy. The rear is pretty clean - but there's some light ageing apparent mostly at the extremities - but much better than some original examples will look like by this point in time. Very little edge wear and the openings are still sharp. The spine is 100% intact - very very smart. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Only very light ageing apparent. No splits.
