Description
An original 1st issue of BTB on the UK Decca label from 1967. Matrix 2/3. Stampers 1-IC/1-II. Please note the deep-groove is still present - this would have been discontinued in '68. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original cover printed by James Upton.
Vinyl (Ex-) In very nice shape despite having seen a moderate level of use. A close inspection reveals a number of light marks - so please don't expect a mint looking record. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with very good clarity. Interference is generally light. However, in a couple of tracks 'Back Street' & 'Sleeping' a couple of marks do cause a bit of crackle. Overall still a very decent rendition from a true Mono '67 issue.
Cover (Ex-) In very nice condition and these BTB covers are often found in quite a bad state. This copy has survived the years in far better than average condition. Lovely shiny front which seems to have escaped the usual creasing or laminate lift. The rear has also seem to have evaded the worst of the ageing which often is found here. Edge wear is light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and is a very fine example of an early cover.
